Students Travel to the Country of Ghana!

Third graders had the unique opportunity to travel (via Zoom) to the country of Ghana as part of their weekly "Flip the Trip" program at North Elementary School.

The students connected with a handful of Ghana representatives, learning about both the differences and similarities between living in Africa verses North America.

The students first learned where on the globe Ghana is located.

The third graders were interested in hearing all about the food that is eaten and grown there, as well as they type of clothing people wear in Ghana.

They learned that people live in mud huts, which are made entirely from natural materials.

The class was surprised to learn that many of the huts are actually stronger than modern American homes made from cement and bricks.

They discovered that education in Ghana is very similar to education here in the United States.

Students asked about the wildlife in Ghana, how people get their food and what some of the favorite foods are in Ghana.
