North's Flip the Trip Club recently enjoyed a visit from Lurvey Landscape here in Des Plaines.
Jeannine LaCerba, a representative for Lurvey, brought pots, soil, seeds and gloves into the classroom.
Ms. Natalie Stevens, who runs the club, said the students had fun rolling up their sleeves, digging into the soil and planting flowers, grass and vegetables.
Shortly after the planting, signs of growth spurred excitement!
The Flip the Trip Club is made up of 15 third graders who use their recess time once a week to go on "field trips" while at school.
This unique club is an opportunity for students to experience something new, boost curiosity and pique new interests.
