A Visit from Singapore

District 62 recently hosted representatives from Singapore's Ministry of Education to learn more about our journey in implementing Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) across our Multi-Tiered System of Supports.

The visit included a meeting with North Elementary School Principal, Ms. Carolyn Allar, and Mr. Colin Baer, Director of Social Emotional Learning at D62.

Mr. Baer said the event focused on the district's successful teaming structures, implementation successes and current best practices.

Ms. Allar and Mr. Baer provided the visitors a tour of North to demonstrate how PBIS is embedded throughout the entire school environment, supporting all students.

The representatives learned that key positive behaviors encouraged throughout the day include being respectful, being ready to learn and being safe.
