North Elementary School's second annual Oratorical Night was a special celebration of the voices, creativity and confidence of third, fourth and fifth grade girls.

Led by Third Grade Teacher Ms. Lindsay Santiago, the students shared speeches and poems on many meaningful topics.

Students shared pieces about identity, community and empowerment.

Others spoke about caring for the environment and helping make the world a better place.

Ms. Santiago said most of the students wrote their own speeches and poems, which made the evening even more personal and meaningful.

"The students truly loved the experience and were so proud to share their ideas on stage," Santiago said. "All the girls brought so much energy and confidence to their performances."

Throughout the process, the students built courage, confidence and strong public speaking skills.

They learned how to speak clearly, express their ideas with passion and support one another as a community of young leaders.
