North Elementary School fifth graders have finished their first Project Based Learning (PBL) unit on economics.
Ms. Amy Haber's classroom was turned into a bustling marketplace as students showcased their final market day projects!
Through this unit, students learned about taxes, budgets, supply and demand, and how businesses work.
Ms. Haber said this hands-on experience has helped them understand economics and develop important skills like teamwork and problem-solving.
For their final project, students thought of a business and created a display with their product, prices, jingle and a commercial.
Project-Based Learning (PBL) offers a multitude of benefits for students, encouraging them to think critically, solve problems and collaborate with peers.
By engaging in real-world projects, students develop a deeper understanding of the subject matter and apply their knowledge in meaningful ways.
Additionally, PBL can foster creativity, communication skills, and a sense of ownership in their learning.
